And now this blog, which has gotten nothing but natural backlinks to it for the past 3+ years or so, has suddenly dropped to an all-time low of PR3 for some strange, macabre reason that only Google can explain why. There goes all the opportunity for high-paid blog advertising, which this blog has been dominating in my network for some time. Sigh.
I didn’t blog for a couple of days and when I return, I got smacked by Google. Sheesh. Never mind, there’s always sponsored themes to earn money from
When I first saw the person-in-question’s portfolio, I was impressed by the quality of the work for Maryland eyelid lift surgery website, so much so that when he asked for a fee of USD$75 to pay for the design (.PSD file only), I agreed and paid him half the amount. I have even given him specifics of what I wanted: 3-columns, must be able to accommodate my sponsored link texts and advertisements, Adsense-optimised, etc. I have even given him examples such as JohnChow.com, MudSugar.com and WPDesigner.com.
But here is the quality of the work that was given. Tell me, does this design even remotely looks like John Chow’s site???

Let me put it this way: it is so fugly that I would not even want to give it away ever, not even for free. I have hired another designer and I have terminated all business dealings with this person. With this kind of work provided, it is not even worth $1, much less $75!

If you haven’t noticed it before, all blogs and websites that belong to yours truly will soon have a footer text stating “Part of the VCTech Network“. That’s right, I am slowly consolidating all my blogs and productions under one label at long last. If you don’t see that footer text in a blog or website, it simply means that the blog or website in question is certainly not mine and is not owned by VCTech Network.
At this moment, I am not sure how am I going to develop the VCTech Network website itself. I was thinking of having WordPress installed on it and tried to find a suitable WP theme which can be used as a portfolio website. However as of to date I have yet to find any suitable theme for that purpose. Perhaps I’ll just code it in plain XHTML/CSS just like the old days with links featuring the products of VCTech Network.
You will just have to wait and see.
That is who I am. That is what I do.

Took the trouble to pay for my 100 pcs namecard for a RM38 price tag at The Mall when registering my new company, VCTech Network. Now I do not have to go into lengthy explanations about who I am or what I do. I was caught in this embarrassing situation last Sunday during the PEMBELA forum. Some people were asking for my blog URL and I had to scramble for a piece of paper and pen (the only “pen” I carry around is my pendrive, so…)
It has turned out great, don’t you think?
Literally speaking, yeah.

I suppose I could pick some other name, but what the heck. Besides, I kinda like the name too. All that is required is to change the business model, after the previous model went kaput during the Asian financial crisis of 1998 (again, I blame Rafisuah Aziz for being responsible for the demise of my father’s SME company).
Now all I need is a domain name to match the company name/logo.
