Mawlid ar-Rasul

Filed under: Religion & Philosophy — menj @ 11:21 pm

On the ocassion of Mawlid ar-Rasul, the day where the world witnessed the birth of the greatest man in the history of mankind, God’s elected: Muhammad al-Mustafa salla allahu alayhi wasallam. Last year I blogged on the Prophet’s life here. There is little to be said since the last time.

The Prophet was foretold in the Bible and was named as the “Shiloh” who will rise from Arabia.

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a law-giver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes, to whom the gentiles look forward.

The sceptre [of Revelation] did depart from the Jews to the Arab Prophet Muhammad, and he was sent to all of mankind, gentile or non-gentile regardless.

Half-naked man image did not appear for centuries

In his article Saviour-gods Mutilated Throughout Antiquity, comparative religions scholar Tom Harpur points out that for seven centuries, the image of a bloodied half-naked Roman criminal did not appear in any Christian liturgy or church imagery for about seven centuries. This is an interesting point as it shows that this Christian belief is most likely an added innovation sometime after Gentiles who converted en masse to what is “claimed” to be the religion of Jesus alaihissalaam brought along their previous pagan beliefs and transposed it into the message of Jesus alaihissalaam. Harpur writes thus:

If the crucifixion was a historic event and so central to the Christian Gospel, why is it that there is no evidence whatever of a man on a cross in Christian art and monuments for almost seven centuries? Not until 692 CE, in the reign of Emperor Justinian II, was it decreed that henceforth instead of a lamb (the zodiacal sign of Aries) fixed on the cross, the figure of Jesus be placed there instead. Another question: How is it that the earliest known figure of any man on a cross comes from about 300 BCE and that “person” is not Jesus but Orpheus, a mythical Greek sun-god?

It gets even more interesting when we read that there is a whole list of competing crucified man-gods who died for the sins of mankind during this era of Christianity.

I have returned

Filed under: Being a Problogger — menj @ 2:52 am

After nearly a month, I am finally able to access the internet from home. Heh. I will relate my experience and elaborate on what I did to get the problem resolved in my new blog, Blogging For Money. I really should have done this weeks ago, had I known that it will produce fast results.

Lets just put it this way — going to TMPoint personally to complain will produce results faster than dialing 1-300-88-9515 and going through all that trouble for a report number.

Review my blog and win RM1,000!

Filed under: Being a Problogger, Loudspeakers — menj @ 10:37 pm

As I have stated before, I am starting a contest and the lucky winner will win RM1,000. I had wanted to launch the contest after my internet access at home is restored but since that is unlikely to happen anytime soon, I have decided to launch it anyway.

Who will be the lucky person to have his/her name on this RM1,000 cheque?

This contest is open to all bloggers, not neccessarily from Malaysia. RM1,000 is about USD290. Winner gets the cheque, others will get a backlink from this PR5 blog. Now here are the rules for the “contest”.
