E-Cover Note

TNSB’s e-cover note system really drives me bonkers. Thank God that the last vehicle cover-note has been cleared now. Whew!

They have a sense of humour

As usual, I was poking around the Answering Islam site to see whatever new material they are going to come up with. Usually, they provide a preview of articles to come. So I went to their page, and guess what appeared?

“Sorry, MENJ, no more previews for you. “

I find it kind of funny that they think that I am such a threat to their agenda that they decided to block me from viewing articles that is to come. I doubt that I am the only individual who views that page. That they have to single me out of the hundreds who bookmark that page every day speaks for itself. LOL.

Nonetheless, I am not worried. Bismika Allahuma intends to come up with a 72-hour response time policy in the near future, i.e. whenever Answering Islam rolls out a new polemic, it will be dissected, analysed and refuted by our team and published within 72 hours. At the moment, I cannot guarantee such a quick response times due to technicalities we are still sorting out. But insha’allah, that will improve in the future.

With the new system we have in place, nothing is impossible. Allahu Akbar!

Under attack

I bought a Linkin’ Park mini-album with the above title about two years ago. Recalling it evokes memories. I still listen to it occassionally.

* * *

This is a general rebuttal to all the posts in the Malaysian blogosphere attacking yours truly, hence it is not directed at any particular person. Were it not for some emails I received asking me to respond to the allegations, I would have just ignored them. My stance on Islam and religion is pretty much well-known in the blogosphere. But apparently, after a recent post[1], some bloggers have taken to task in “condemning” the post and the whole nature of my blog (and it just beats me why this is so…I have been blogging since 2003), one even saying that I “do not” represent Islam (whatever that means *roll eyes*). This same person once attacked me personally on the issue of my writings on Comparative Religion without explicitly naming me. I don’t think it will be wise to name that person here, though.

Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith

Or: A day in the Malaysian Parliament, Seat of Power (III)

Note: All reference to the MPs are according to their constituencies and they are CAPITALISED in bold

KINABATANGAN and IPOH TIMUR were at each others’ throats, figuratively speaking. IPOH BARAT joined in the battle. Eventually everyone calmed down and the resuming of the motions continued.

If truth was to be told, I really enjoyed the session best whenever those “verbal scuffles” took place. Otherwise, admittably, the Dewan Rakyat can really be a boring place where all fall asleep…which some MPs actually did before the verbal scuffle.

I am amazed at how KINABATANGAN was able to get away with his insults in Parliament. Here I was, being berated by a “clone” for lying down on a seat in front of me, but he is not willing to do the same to an MP who uttered insults and literally said “Shut Up! You Sit Down!” to his fellow MP. Sheesh.

Anyway, the House calmed down after that ruckus, and a few MPs started to deliver their speech…bla, bla bla (don’t ask me what they said, I was too fatigued to even pay attention). At about 4pm, the fellow blogger and I decided to leave…but apparently BATU GAJAH saw us leaving and she greeted us at the exit.

BATU GAJAH took us on a brief tour of the Parliament. She took us to the 11th floor, the location of the Opposition Leader’s (IPOH TIMUR) offices. There were two office spaces, one on the left, and the other is on the right.

We entered the left office first. There, we met with his assistant, Weng Sun, who was manning a computer. He greeted us and answered some questions posed by the fellow blogger. Later, he gave us his calling card and we exited.

The second office is much more interesting. It is set up as a lounge and apparently, according to BATU GAJAH, it is used as an Opposition hangout by all the Opposition parliamentarians, regardless of political affiliation. Interesting. Here, I met with PENDANG and I greeted him with Islamic greetings. I took the opportunity to ask him to enquire about my Pas membership, and after an amiacable chat, I left the office, but not without leaving my full name, IC no and the contact number which I can be reached.

And so we left Parliament…the end? Err…not quite. When walking towards the KTM Railway Station (by cutting through Taman Tasik Perdana), we were chased by, of all things, a flock of geese. They look really cute but really violent.
