Want to celebrate the 48th anniversary of Merdeka but don’t know how? Want to be different from the rest? Here’s a suggestion: why not download some patriotic songs on the eve of National Day and blare it over your speakers at high volume on the stroke of midnight?
Remember, however, that Islam shuns nationalism but promotes and supports patriotism. Big difference between the two. Anyway, enjoy the leeching!
I was at Midvalley Megamall just now to meet a very old friend from my days in Sri Inai Junior…Kevin. We ate lunch at McD’s. Nostalgia is strong and we chatted for quite a while. I had to take my leave early but I cherish the meeting.
I know that his blog speaks from the Christian perspective, and I recommended him to take a look at Isma’il Al-Faruqi’s (editor) Trialogue of Abrahamic Faiths. Sadly, there is nothing like it by a Muslim author in recent times and I doubt that anyone (myself included) could ever match the eloquence, critical thinking and masterful insight by Faruqi. Kevin promised me to take me on a visit to 1-Utama’s MPH Bookstore and a Christian bookstore in PJ…I look forward to it.
Updated: I found out that Kevin wrote a post about me.
Mayor Livingstone has my support. Al-Qaradawi is one of the few contemporary Muslim jurists who is highly regarded in the Muslim world. It would be badly reflected on the British government if they decide to ban him just because they follow a skewered opinion of him from the Zionists.
